WebDeveloping COVID-19 around the time of an operation is more dangerous than at other times. Therefore, you should minimise contact with others and follow strict social distancing and hand washing advice. You may also wish to self-isolate for 14 days before the operation to reduce the risk of catching the virus at this time even further. WebChildren and young people who are due to have an overnight stay, or specific procedures as a day case, will need to come to the hospital for a pre-admission assessment. This could be up to three days before your child’s procedure. We’ll contact you in advance to let you know when the assessment will be and to arrange the visit.
